  1. Photo Entry #1

    May 27, 2012 by admin

    Hey Everyone,

I have been quite busy recently. Turns out producing a film while working a full-time assistant editing/logging job can be quite demanding. Nevertheless I wanted to share with you guys some photos I have taken over the last couple months. All of these photos have been taken with my Iphone although I have used a variety of Apps (Camera+, Hipstamatic, Instagram, & Photosynth). Enjoy!

    Break dancing outside Columbus Circle!

So little secret. I used to think the 1/2 bathroom in my parent’s apartment was haunted. My mom has collected a bunch of creepy photos from antique shops that should probably be used as production design for American Horror Story rather then I don’t know…decorations for a bathroom! This photo was the one that always creeped me out the most. In a way this photo always reminds me of Stephen King’s short story The Road Virus Heads North. Who knows maybe one day this ghost will catch up with me.

Opening Day at Citifield! Everyone was very excited cause the Mets won! Who knows maybe we will make the playoff this year….sigh.

So, I have sort of this avid curiosity surrounding art/graffiti that lies inside bathrooms at bars in New York. I discovered this amazing Periodic Table of Elements at Uncle Barry’s in Park Slope. I have a couple more photos of the posters!

Here is a panorama I did of a dive bar’s bathroom in Alphabet City.

    Chilling in Central Park.

That in the distance was my high school. But in Black and White it might as well be labeled as a Mental Asylum…that or far less fun version of Hogwarts.

The In the Land of Milk and Honey Kickstarter is going strong! We have raised over $3,000! This was a photo I took while we were shooting the Kickstarter video!

Champs is amazing…so is Jackie Zimmerman!

At the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens! Had an awesome time with my girlfriend, Hannah. Below is a picture of her chilling out in a field.

Last month my close friend Genji made his return to America. I went to Philadelphia to hear him give a poetry reading at UPenn. Had an awesome time and I also got to sell a couple copies of my Zine!

Hopefully I will be able to post some videos of Genji reading in the near future, till then if you want to read some of Genji’s poetry check out his Tumblr.

On Cinco De Mayo I Went to Moves in Brooklyn. I went to see Anxieteam! They are a fun boppy electronic band that is made up of visual artists Jon Burgerman and Jim Avignon. I have seen them a few times and they are always a bunch of fun. Their shows always consist of cool masks and crazy costumes!

The Great Googa Mooga was full of lines and were super rude to my friend Sam , but I ended up having a pretty good time eating good food and listening to The Roots! Anyway at least I got to see this gigantic metal pig breath fire, with an actual roasting pig on the inside. Don’t see that every day.

So I have been stuck at work a lot recently. Doing this pretty cool assistant editing/logging gig for a reality television show. However, one big plus is the production office has a fantastic view!

Felix, my dog looking absolutely disgusting… He is kind of the bane of my existence.

    Morton Street looking super beautiful!

I leave you with this photo I took of a goat eating a branches off a tree at west 4th street. It is not every day you see a goat on the leash, but then again, in this city, anything is possible!

  2. In the Land of Milk and Honey

Dear Friends, Family, and possible Blog Followers!

I have embarked on an awesome project that I am excited to tell you about! I have recently become a producer on Mr. Daniel F. Pfeffer’s (aka Danny) short film, In the Land of Milk and Honey. It is a coming of age tale, set in Ithaca, New York, about a Puerto-Rican teenage girl trapped in an abusive home, trying to find a place where she belongs.

I met Danny while I was interning at Scott Rudin Productions, and have always wanted to work on a project with him. He is probably one of the closest friends I have made out of college. This is a very personal tale for him, since a lot of the events are loosely based on his experiences growing up in Ithaca, New York.

Now get this, we have launched a kickstarter campaign to try to raise money for the film. I have seen some of my friends gain tremendous success through the website, but I was still a little nervous moving forward. However, we have already raised over $700! Our goal is to raise $5,000 by June which will cover all of our expenses for the shoot.

I edited the Kickstarter video myself. It features both of our lead actors Yainis Ynoa and Joshua Rivera. Yainis starred in a film called Babygirl which just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last week. Josh was also featured in the film, and he co-starred in Gimme the Loot which won the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW.

I was really happy with how the Kickstarter video turned out! I think Danny, Josh, and Yainis all come off very humble, and hopefully this will help with us reaching our goal. It was also good for me to learn a thing or two about how to launch a Kickstarter campaign, since I may be working on another Kickstarter campaign soon for the Palovista Ranch, a writers residency in New Mexico!

Anyway, please check out the video! I am going to be the editor on the film, and if everything goes to plan, we should be able to submit the short to festivals in the Fall. I am very excited to edit the project, and help Danny’s vision finally come to life! I will also be giving you some updates on the film as time goes on!

Thank you for reading, and have a happy May 1st!

P.S. Here is the link to the Kickstarter:
